Velachery struck under North East Monsoon


 Chennai: The city has witnessed heavy rain in the past five days as never before. Even the posh and perfect parts of Chennai is struggling due to the unexpected heavy rain due to the formation of two cyclones in Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea.This time North East monsoon is very strong compared to previous years. The situation is very worst in Royapettah, Vellachery areas.

 Every time it rains in the city , most of Vellachery drowns in  couple of problems. This time the condition is worst as the raining was very heavy. Most of the parts of vellachery is filled with rain water which is creating difficulty even to walk. Traffic has also affected in a huge scale as the heavy rain has damaged most of the roads as well. Roads are now little more than a dirt track. Some parts are filled with potholes and full of gravel and muck. “ After the heavy raining in Sunday and Monday most of the roads are in very pathetic situation. Most of the streets are filled with dirt water. It is very difficult to get inside my house premises because of the rain water. Also many trees fell down that are not still removed from the road sides. “ said Murugan, a resident of Vellachery.  The city is in danger of contaminated diseases and mosquitos due to water. It is very important to take enough steps by authority to clear and clean the roads soon.

Not only in Chennai the heavy rain has created so much of destructions in entire Tamil Nadu which led to the death of thirty one in various rain related incidents. Already state has received 90% of its water in past five days, that usually receives in North East monsoon every year.
