Storm washes away livelihood in Triplicane

The recently passed storm in chennai have washed down the Triplicane MRTS railway station. 

The MRTS railway station which was constructed in 1997 is having problems of water logging ever since it was been constructed. Of all the MRTS stations, the triplicane railway station is the worst affected.

Triplicane railway station which is placed adjacent to ayodhya kuppam has been a living ground for several homeless people and the passing of recent storm has washed their homes too.

Several trees has fallen victims to the recent storms in the area.The locals complain that there was a delay in removing these trees. They say that it took them three days to clear the fallen trees. As a result of this, the whole area was jam packed. The corporation officials along with the help of the locals are now clearing the mess.

''This is what we have been going through for the past eight years and every  year we vacate this place and search for temporary accommodation when there is rain'',said Kumar of ayodhya kuppam.
