In siddha medical system they
prescribe Nilavembu kudineer one of the effective decoctions for the better
prevention and treatment of dengue and all the other types of fever. Nowadays
all government hospitals in Tamil Nadu promote this medicine for betterment of
public health. The camp had a great success. Adults as well as children took
active participation in spite of heavy rain and flood. Totally 1134 patients
avail the medicine on the three days camp. It is appreciable that, nowadays the
awareness towards the Siddha system of medicine has been increased among the
public. The risk of mosquitoes carrying vector
diseases such as malaria, dengue or chikunguniya may have reduced but people
suffer from red bumps on the skin, allergies and itches. The original ingredients of
this wonder drug as per some old Siddha texts were roots of nilavembu, musuttai
ver, vetti vervilamichai ver, dry ginger. Other ingredients
like chittarathai, narukku moolam, nalla milagu, jadamaanji, vilva root,
sandalwood etc were added down the centuries to improve the vitality of the
concoction.
Siddha, Ayurveda and other
alternative systems do not regard fever as a disease but as a symptom of an
underlying disease condition. The temperature of our body rises when the
body’s defence mechanism is fully engaged in dealing with severe disease
condition affecting the human body. Harmful germs, bacteria etc will find
it difficult to survive the high temperature of a feverish body. So fever
is to be looked upon as a beneficial development. It can be prepared in the convenience of your
home and taken in moderation as per the directions of your Siddha/Ayurveda
physician said by Dr.L.Chithra.
