Due to rain showers across the city, most of the city roads are badly damaged and are in very poor conditions all these roads are major such places like santhome, foreshore estate, greenways road, and adyar too etc,.
Most of the city roads are already in a bad state. In addition to this, heavy rain, busy travelling on the road throughout the day and such similar factors get added as the reason for the bad condition.

Traffic jams were reported during rush hour as vehicles struggled to navigate the flooded roads. Residents of several localities such as LB road, Indira Nagar, Besant Nagar, and other links roads which connects to ECR complained of flood. Water had entered some houses in suburbs such as mallipoo nagar (behind fortis in adyar), Velachery, Anna nagar etc.

Every time the sky opens up the residents have to come to accept sewage-mixed rainwater flooded streets. Sewage overflow from manholes has become a common problem for the residents of the locality causing sewage water to stagnate for several days on street roads and posing health hazards to the people.

Venkatesan, a watchman in gandhi nagar, said that many localities were under ankle deep water. Some streets were also affected with sewage blocks.

Residents of many areas said power supply remained erratic since Thursday night. Then, a southern suburb of the city, complained that power supply was not restored till next day evening.
