Aggravated petty shop owners launch complaint against Corporation officers

On the early hours of Monday, a group of corporation officers flatten the 30 years old petty shop at Royapurram; ran by an old couple. This is not the first incident happening in the locality.

Every week one or two families get affected by such confrontation. The investigation revealed that, M.Patchaiyappan (60) and Ramani Andal (54) were having their petty shop on the platform and this was the major concern for the corporation. From 30 years Mr.M. Patchaiyappan was earning his daily wages from this petty shop which was believed to be his only source of income. Later, after the wedding Mrs. Ramani Andal helped her husband in maintaining the shop. Though they earned very modest, they managed their expenses from the income.

Sources say this pitiless act is being ignored only because these shops are sited on the platforms. No intimation was given to the shop keepers; this was the great disappointment and an ordeal to them as they are left clueless.“Almost Rs. 5000 worth products were demolished along with our shop. My husband is still in trauma, who will help us now for our being? My daughter cannot help us financially; no one will come forward to help us. I and my husband launched a complained immediately after the incident. But, I don’t believe that any further action will be taken as this is corporation relatedissue” Blubbered Ramani Andal (54).

Conversely, the couple determined to move strongly with the compliant.
