40 years of Arts and Crafts at Lalit Kala Akademi

Around 120 artists has come up together to form the Tamil Nadu Art and Crafts Improvement Association to encourage and showcase the art and crafts of various artists. This annual art exhibition was inaugurated today at Lalit Kala Akademi.
It is open to public and all art lovers from 11:00am to 7:00pm. It is an exhibition-cum-sale which has paintings and sculptures of around 65 artists mostly from Tamil Nadu. The exhibition has no particular theme and showcases works of artists by themselves. 

The art and crafts association has close to 400 artists of different age groups from 20 and more. Since it’s an exhibition-cum-sale it could be useful to the members who are not so well of says an 50 year old member of Tamil Nadu Art and Crafts Improvement Association.
The exhibition with no particular theme will showcase the talents of artists and also to encourage them irrespective of age and financial background. It exhibits paintings and sculptures by many artists.

The government should support and do some financial help by supporting artists say’s Anna Pillai the president. The association does all form of support and dedication to art and crafts by promoting talented artists and also by conducting various workshops based on arts and crafts for young artists to develop their skills.
The president of Tamil Nadu Art and Crafts Improvement Association Anna Pillai who is venerable still continues to work for the association and its development.
